Nightlocke blinked as he buried the wires but continued to smile, there were ways around things like that. There was metal all around, plenty of electricity to conduct. But then the Helicopters came up on both sides of the bridge and she frowned and glared at them. She knew that their bullets couldn't penetrate her force field. But then, she saw Kinetix charge the bullets and saw them break the sound barrier in an instant. Her eyes widened for a brief moment as she realized that with his power combined with the bullets, they might be able to break through her electromagnetic force field. But then, something happened which she did not perceive.
As the bullets clashed against the force field with such brute force and she felt the very field tremble from the impact, the bullets themselves were being broken apart! As she observed, she realized that the electromagnetism was splitting the electrons and protons thus breaking apart the building blocks of the molecules which was the very foundation of the matter of the bullet. This was a profound discovery, and it only seemed to be happening with the great amount of force being put behind the original force of the bullets, in other words it only happened because of the superior speed. What else could it have been? She had never before seen this happen when she defended herself from normal bullets. However, the field was still receiving damage, she could feel a pounding in her head as she struggled to keep the force field together from the impacts. Nightlocke blinked, shaking away any fear she might have felt a moment before.
"What's the matter," she taunted, "Can't fight your own battles?! Pathetic! You are a disgrace to Mutants everywhere."
In an instant, she expanded the force field up to 20 meters in all directions, which pushed her up since she must remain in the middle of it at all times. Then she suddenly shrunk the field to only go all around about an inch from her very body as she shot up towards one of the Helicopters. She opened her hands and grabbed onto the landing skid just as she was about to lose momentum. Then, she unleashed electricity from her body which transported all around the body of the Helicopter but more importantly, the circuits and motor of the Helicopter would be going wild as she ruined the channeling of the magnetic field which caused any electrical devices on the air craft to fail. The Helicopter started to lose control and began spinning out of control towards the other Helicopter.
Nightlocke let go and jumped onto the suspenders of the bridge. Nightlocke clutched her chest and winced as it started to hurt. She could feel the pain from her accelerated heart beat protesting. She was seriously wearing herself out using so much power. Sweat streamed down her face, and she was slightly out of breath. Her hands were shaking slightly, and her clothes were a bit charred as they couldn't be protected from her electric powers, but that didn't matter much. She couldn't let this guy take her, not with out a fight, and she would go down fighting if she had to.
She lost her footing and slipped but managed to catch it by forcing a magnetic field onto her hands which latched onto the Suspender so that she didn't fall off. When that happened, the Helicopter had managed to smash into the tail of the other one which also spun out of control. The paddles of each craft clashed and the last thing Nightlocke saw was an explosion before they went down. She crawled back up on the bridge and then hopped up on her feet, letting out a sigh of relief, and began to slide down it by concentrating a magnetic field on her feet while keeping her eyes on Kinetix.

Kinetix cursed as Nightlocke escaped from the assaulting gunfire. She flew up, propelled by her electromagnetic field. He didn't remember that ability. The repressed personality must have thought it up. This was a problem.
Definitely a problem. Nightlocke latched onto one of the helicopter and supercharged, frying all the electronics in the machine. It started spinning out, tail swinging around and around, flinging the girl down. She managed to catch one of the suspenders and magnetize herself to the colossal wire.
No time for that. Michael raised his arms and yanked the pilots from their cockpits just before they collided in midair. He threw them far over the water, high enough so they could open their parachutes.
Then he turned to the girl. That was it. She tried to kill people. Now he couldn't go easy on her. This was a tricky situation. He couldn't risk shooting at her up there. If he missed or she deflected the suspender might break and the entire bridge would go down.
He dashed to the side of the bridge and jumped up onto the suspender. Taking a moment to breathe, he rushed up the wire, reaching somewhere around 50 mph. He would have slipped a dozen times if he wasn't cancelling out any lateral movement. It was just a straight dash towards the girl. As he ran, he caught the air, compressing it in front of his chest. In his hands he compressed two smaller balls of air and fired them towards the girl. The shear friction ignited the air, turning them into fireballs.
Then the stopped maybe ten feet from the girl and thrust out his chest. The huge ball of air exploded, sending a wall of fire rolling towards her.
He hated this power. Creating compressed air wasn't difficult. All he had to do was pull air towards one point. But after launching it he had no control.

Nightlocke was about to intercept the incoming flames when suddenly, there was a horrible pounding in her head. She screamed and she lost all concentration on her powers. She slipped off of the side of the suspenders and was falling at full speeds above the water 500 feet below. Charlotte's eyes were closed, but after several seconds they fluttered open as she let out a groan.
"Huh....?"
Charlotte gasped and her eyes bulged as she realized she was free falling and she was about to smash face first into the bay. She held her head and screamed, she thought she was gonna die. But that fear activated the force field around her right before she hit the body of water. There was a massive splash when she hit it and she sunk under the water. However, the impact was so great that it broke Charlotte's force field and it caused so much pressure on her head that she became completely dazed. Her face became vacant and she couldn't tell which way was up or down. She tried to move her arms and legs to swim to the surface but her limbs felt like jello and were reacting really slowly.

Michael dropped to one knee and peered as the fire washed over the suspender, vigorously baking the orange paint until it was sooty black. Where was she? Did he hit her? Probably not. That force field was very strong. He wasn't sure how strong. It had been a while since they measured the exact statistics, but he couldn't be too careful.
A second later he saw the girl hurtling towards the water. "What the?"
How did that happen? That attack shouldn't have done that. He cursed under his breath and grabbed his radio. "Eye in the Sky, this is Kinetix, requesting one round off the east side of the bridge. Home in on my position."
A few seconds later, Michael heard the massive boom of the C-130's main gun, a 105 mm M102 howitzer. The massive round shot past Michael and entered the water. The moment it touched the liquid, Michael took and magnified the forces from the round, but stopped the metal. The water suddenly parted, a swirling vortex going straight to the bottom. It kept spinning and spinning, a gaping maw below him. Nightlocke was dead center out in the open.
Michael jumped down, landing atop the soft mud. "Are you ready to give up now?"

Just when Charlotte thought she was going to drown, there was a sudden force in the water. She was sucked to the bottom but then the waters parted all around her. Her eyes were shut tight and she was coughing up water. She opened her eyes and looked around her, startled and breathing heavily from the adrenaline. Charlotte crawled onto her hands and knees. She was soaking wet. Her head was painfully pounding and she felt dizzy. She guessed that if she tried to stand up, she would probably fall over from disorientation. She looked up to see the stranger from before standing over her. Her eyes widened with fear and helplessness.
How did she even get thrown over the bridge? The last thing she remembered was him attacking her and then she blacked out. When she woke up, she was falling. Did he have some sort of special power? No, it couldn't be that. That kind of thing happened to her even when she wasn't being attacked. It had happened more than once. She had figured it was the chip still stuck in her head. How she knew about the chip, she couldn't really explain. He asked if she was ready to give up. She had no choice.... Charlotte lowered her head in defeat giving him his answer and fought the moisture building up in her eyes.

Michael felt a sliver of pity. The Nightlocke before him was a shadow of the former. Even the other personality was more prideful. This groveling girl before him was a pale shadow. But he did feel sympathy. She was a small frail child right now, not much different than his son.
He pulled out his pistol, slipped the clip free and ejected the bullet from the chamber. He jammed in a different clip and cocked back slide. The barrel faced the girl down. He didn't say a word. This was his job. He had to be the unwavering example, the dog that never strayed or revolted, lest the government turn on him and Division.
People didn't realize just how much Division helped. Having a reliable and trustworthy group of mutants willing to obey normal humans was important. It gave the government the proof it needed to not impose harsher restrictions on the mutant population. And Michael, as Division's leader, had to be the first line of defense. If his superiors thought him weak or unwilling to follow orders then the rest of Division would lose their one advocate that kept them from experiments like the one done on Charlotte.
If only he had had that kind of authority back then. They wouldn't be here now.
He pulled the trigger, firing a tranquilizer dart into Nightlocke's neck.

A fierce, wirring wind. An unnatural wind so fierce that the trees began to quiver and shake in their foundations and most of the leaves in the area simply popped off of their branches and fluttered around in said large gust for only a brief few moments. But then something odd happened; A tall blonde male who actually seemed in his mid-teen years seemed to sort of just..float down on the huge gust of wind, in a circular motion as it was infact a cyclone-formed wind mass, and thus twirled in an elegant circular motion.
As this mysterious, suited n' booted male with his slicked-back fifties style hair, perfectly shined shoes and perfectly pressed suit appeared in what seemed to be an average gust of wind, the tranq dart that had been fired seemed to just..float off to one side and land somewhere down in the water thanks to the same gust of wind. Then, as soon as the gust of wind had began, it had stopped, and the boy just sort of slowly floated on over towards the downed female mutant who seemed to be in rather a dated pickle, and slid from his pocket a hand that appeared rather soft for a person of his age. He did not smile, he did not frown, he simply looked onto the girl with an icy-calm resolve, and with no further introductions of movement he spoke simply the words "If you wish to survive, then I suggest you move behind me, close, and don't move."
The mysterio hombre, as it were, then simply slid his neck around in a circle, as calm and cool as if he wasn't facing a person specificly trained to hunt, capture and kill mutants just like him, and judging from the fact he wasn't himself dead, he had to be at least passable; Or that awful that he was never used, and either way it would be fun for the blonde to test out his skills. Then, with no force or real effort he raised a hand high into the air and clicked his fingers, mumbling something under his breath; And then a rather unnerving incident took place, as the sky opened up and darkened as soon as the click took place, the trees shook, the water began to shiver and shake, and then thunder could be heard.
The mans face instantly grew darker, and his features actually began to show his anger, his face sliding down ever-so-slightly and his nose and chin wiggling with as he glared for the larger male. "Oh. I see, you enjoy picking on little girls?" he pronounced in a -very- upper-class, almost hilariously posh accent, continuing with "Well, if you want a fight..I suppose I shall have to give you one." and then..BOOM! Lightning struck just feet from the other male, then just a few feet back from that, and then a few feet back; That..was not normal, lightning striking consecutively in three near-identical places when it was sunny two seconds ago? It was obviously the others doing.
The winds became so furious that chunks of unsteady earth and pieces of grass, smaller trees, rocks, and basically anything that was not fastened particularly well was vaulted high into the air; The winds were starting to become storm-force, heavy sleet and rains barreled down by the second, and lightning seemed to appear from nowhere and everywhere at once. And then he pointed straight at the other, and with a smirk targeted him for the next strike. The sky right above darkened evermore than before, and a larger cloud could be seen, seperate from the others, charging up a large blast of unnatural colored energy simply to fry the man. Only a few seconds left, and the strike would take place.

Charlotte heard the stranger's gun cock and knew he was about to pull the trigger. But then suddenly something happened. He pulled the trigger, and Charlotte winced, except nothing hit her. She looked up and realized that it suddenly became really windy. She looked around and she couldn't believe what she saw. It was as if it suddenly became stormy when it was sunny just moments before! She stared wide eyed with disbelief but then a man came down from seemingly nowhere. he was blonde and looked very classy. he was floating in the winds as if the winds were guiding him down. The wind made her shiver, as she was still completely soaked from head to toe. She hugged herself but continued to watch. He landed right before the two but looked down on her with a cool demeanor.
"If you wish to survive, then I suggest you move behind me, close, and don't move."
"O-okay...."
He was here to help her? How could that be? There was no way. She had come all the way to California not only to be seized but to be saved? It was inconceivable! And amazing, too. Tears welled up in her eyes. Charlotte felt so relieved and she was deeply moved. The blue eyed girl shakily got up on her feet. She swayed as a dizzy spell hit her but she was able to regain her balance once again. She stepped back but actually tripped over a handlebar and landed on her butt. What the... what were bicycle handlebars doing in the water? It didn't matter. She looked back up and the Blonde stranger appeared to be confronting the other man who was hunting her down. Lightning struck. Lightning wouldn't harm her, they were a part of her powers, but still.... She had an unsettling look on her face. What was going to happen? Should she help? She still felt a little disoriented and- ah what the hell... if she had to, she would help him, after all, he had just basically saved her!

Michael looked up when the tranquilizer dart dropped to the ground. There, in the sky, was another mutant. He floated there, held up by some invisible force, most likely air currents by what Michael's telekinesis could sense. This made things a whole lot worse. Handling Nightlocke, a mutant he trained, fought with, and had powers that were ideal in fighting him head on with was trouble enough. Now he had to deal with this asshole.
It was a mutant, and a hostile one at that. And from what he could gather his ability had something to do with the air, probably the weather. This was definitely a problem. With so much moving around, Michael's senses would be stretched to the limit as he tracked water, air, other objects, and even the lightning. Plus if Nightlocke joined in he would have two fronts to face down.
Lightning struck near him. Once. Twice. Numerous times, all at the same spot. Very accurate. He would use the same attack again. It was a good bet. He had to act before it came.
No choice but to stop pulling his punches. He blinked, recognizing a subtle shift in the air. Particles were ionizing between the darkening clouds and the ground around him. Lightning struck with exacting precision. Michael just watched Gaia. Lightning from storms was easier to deal with than Nightlocke's bolts of electricity.
He blinked again. The mud beneath him instantly separated into dirt and water, rising up and filling the air with a heavy layer of dust. As the lightning came down, this time towards him, the concentrated particles split the ionized path, causing the lightning to split countless times until it was just harmless electricity in the air.
Now for the offensive. Michael raised his fist, mind blank as he moved on instinct. A direct attack against Gaia would be of minimal effect as he could fly.Taking to the air would be foolish as Gaia's abilities would give him the advantage. But Michael was far more powerful than either Nightlocke or Gaia and now was the time to show just how powerful he really was.
His fist struck the ground. Instantly, all the pent up kinetic energy he had been absorbing through the moving water was directed straight down.
The earth split beneath them, radiating out from Michael's fist. Water parted as it fell into the widening maw. A horrid red-black glow emanated from below and as the falling water hit the heated rock and molten magma, it evaporated into a colossal plume of superheated steam. Michael shielded himself and Nightlocke as the cloud rose passed them and engulfed the sky above. The sheer heat was enough to melt flesh from bone and cook Gaia alive within seconds. Michael quickly turned and fired another tranq dart, this time augmenting the speed so it hit within a second. It would hurt more at that speed, but Gaia wouldn't have time to stop it.
