Powers and Abilities:
- Flame Manipulation: Zach's power is that of Pyrokinesis. This gives Zach the psionic ability to manipulate flame by shaping it as he desires, increasing or decreasing its heat, intensity, and size. He cannot actually create fire himself, however, and as such can always be found carrying a zippo or some form or lighter on himself at all times. However, thanks to his own ingenuity, he has developed a wrist mounted lighter. It is light by a slight flick of his wrist and has a switch that allows him to turn it off so as not to cause any accidents. It is NOT a flamethrower by any means and is actually like a kitchen or BBQ lighter in that it is only designed to give him a flame to work with.
- Flame Control: Zach has the psionic ability to cause any fire, however small, to grow in size and intensity and to take any form that he desires, even that of a living creature. He can then psionically cause that creature of "living flame" to do anything he wishes. For example, if he caused fire to take the form of of a gigantic bird of prey, he could mentally direct the "bird," to fly and attack a victim. Zach's creations can have greater mass than an ordinary fire of the same size. A gigantic fire-bird, for example could grasp a large, heavy object with its talons and carry it off into the air, although, of course, the heat of the fire would affect the object just as a normal fire would. The size, power, and intensity of the fire-beings he creates are limited only by the extent of his imagination and the degree of his concentration.
The degree of concentration required is directly proportional to the size, power, and heat intensity of the flame-being. Zach also has to be able to see a flame in order to take control of it; in practical terms, the flame has to be within 100-yards of him. Once having established control over a fire, Zach can continue to control it after it has left his range of sight, but this is extremely difficult for him and that difficulty increases as the distance between himself and the flame-being increases. Zach can, for example, create a fiery "bird" and command it to fly beyond the range of his sight, but if it then collided with a wall or if his concentration was in the least diminished, the "bird" would revert to being ordinary fire. Any of Zach's fiery creations, or any fire he is controlling in general, immediately turn to ordinary fire if he turns his interest from them.- Heat Resistance: Due in part to his ability to control fire, Zach has an innate resistance to all forms of heat. As such he can go into extremely hot environments and it will feel comfortable and not bother him in the slightest. However this also has a downside as if he is ever in an environment that is below freezing he will have a hard time using his powers should he be able to get some fire to manipulate.
- Fire Invulnerability: Zach is invulnerable to any fire that he has placed under his psionic control. However, he can be harmed (just as any ordinary human would be) by any fire that he does not mentally control.
Appearance:
Zach stands in at 6'0" tall and weighs in at 170lbs of all muscle. He keeps his body toned and cut by working out and keeping his eating habits as healthy as he can. His hair is an odd brown, almost ashen looking, color and usually kept semi long and messy. His skin is pale with a slight tan but the main thing that sticks out in regards to how Zach looks are his eyes. For some reason, he believes it's due to his mutant genes, his eyes are a dark red and tends to stand out in a crowd. Because of this, during the day, he usually wears a pair of sunglasses and at night does his best to pass it off as contact lenses.
Civilian Attire: His normal attire consists of jeans and a t-shirt of some description, usually what ever's clean, along with black combat boots and his sunglasses and depending on the weather he has a black leather coat with a flame design on it.
Fighting Attire: When he's actually looking to find trouble, or cause some, Zach can be found wearing an all black outfit consisting of black pants, a black t-shirt under a black, zip up, shirt, a long black coat that falls to his knees, black gloves and his wrist lighters. His pants also have straps on both legs that start as his hips and go to mid-thigh.
Personality:
There are many things about Zach that make him who he is aside from his mutant abilities. While they are part of him they don't make how the whole of him. Most of the time he's a calm and laid back individual. Granted he's got an intellect that could run circles around most people but he never really flaunts it and most of the time hides it so as not to make people think he's trying to act better than them. He likes just being himself and goofing off when he's not stuck working. All in all he tends to be very much "normal".
However, there is another side to him that he normally doesn't show that often but there have been times where it shows itself. When Zach gets into a fight where he is forced to use his powers he tends to slip into a more... crazy state of mind. While he still has his intellect driving his actions and how he fights his reasoning behind it is nothing more than pure violence. He has been known to be uncontrollable at this stage and will not stop until he is either forced to stop or the other person he is fighting is beaten.
