  • Magnetic Force-Fields: James can easily create a force-field around himself created out of Electromagnetic energies. This shield is incredibly strong and can withstand hits from heavy weapons (Tanks, etc), volcanic eruptions and even the depths of space. He is also able to quickly and easily expand the force-field to protect large areas around himself.
    
    
  • Magnetic Flight: This is one of the easier tasks that James can use his powers for. He is capable of sustaining flight for very long distances and at varying speeds. He apparently has several means by which he achieves flight, one of which is by gliding along the planet's natural magnetic lines of force, another by simply creating a repulsive force between himself and the planet, propelling himself thus.
    
    
  • Magnetic Pulse: This ability allows James to focus magnetic energies into an extremely powerful concussive blast which can be used for various purposes from breaking down a door or wall to throwing an opponent across the room or a fairly long distance away.
    
    
  • Matter Manipulation: One of James' more powerful abilities. With this James is able to manipulate matter down to the subatomic level for a number of purposes. With this he is able to manipulate objects aside from metal, including: wood, stone, plastics, etc. This is due to the electromagnetic force which exists between atoms and other subatomic particles. This ability requires an intense amount of concentration. As such if, in the process of manipulating something other than metal, he is distracted, his control over the object will cut off.
    
    
  • Electromagnetic Sight: With this ability James can perceive the world around himself as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings and perceive their current physical and mental condition.
    
    
  • Organic Iron Manipulation: This is another one of James' more dangerous abilities. With this ability James can control the trace amounts of iron within organic matter, which allows him to take control of an opponent's body. He can manipulate the iron-enriched blood-flow to one's brain to induce aneurysms or unconsciousness, alter thoughts and perceptions, or blank a person's mind completely. He can even remove ferrous compounds from the bloodstream entirely through a person's skin. Through this ability he is also able to save people who are injured by metal, e.g. bullets.
    
    
  • Superhuman Abilities: Normally James, thanks to his constant training and working out, has the strength, stamina, durability, reflexes and speed of a well conditioned athlete. However, his ability to channel large amounts of magnetic energy can be used to enhance each of these areas for a short time. While magnetically enhanced he can lift items in excess of 100tons with ease, his stamina will increase to several days before fatigue sets in, his body becomes more durable and able to shrug off strong hits, his reflexes allow him to stop even some of the fastest super humans and he can even increase his own speed quite drastically.
  
  
  
• Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation:
  
  • Full Spectrum Manipulation: Although James' primary power is Magnetism, he has an extensive ability to project or manipulate any form of energy that is related to the electromagnetic spectrum. He can fire and absorb bolts of electricity and magnetic force, reverse lasers and other forms of radiation or energy, create enough intense heat as infrared radiation to level a city, manipulate gravity, and become invisible by deflecting visible light around his body. Infrared radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which also includes visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet light, gamma rays and x-rays -- James can project any of these, though since it is not his primary ability it is more difficult for him to do continually.
  
  
  
• Telepathic Resistance:
  
  • Dampening Field: Since his parting of ways with Thomas Xavier, James has trained himself extensively for fighting telepaths, and is resistant to all but the strongest telepathic attack. His own Electromagnetic powers have shown evidence of countering, dampening and even outright stopping any form of telepathy. Additionally, James possesses a strong will, which also aids him in resisting telepathic assaults.

Appearance:

James stands in at 6'0" tall and weighs in at 180lbs. His eyes are an ice blue and his hair is a stark white. Being Irish his skin is slightly pale, but there is a slight tan. He keeps himself in top physical shape and always works out when he gets the chance.

Civilian Attire: When he is walking around the town and dealing with other businessmen he can always be seen in a black suit, white shirt and tie. He keeps his appearance clean cut and business appropriate so as to keep up appearances.

Mutant Attire: His typical "Brotherhood" attire consists of something vastly different than his business attire. This outfit consists of a black skintight t-shirt covered by a black, padded, leather vest. He has a pair of black pants and brown, knee high boots. He has a long blue jacket that he wears over it all that falls to his ankles and black, fingerless, gloves that top it all off. The trim of the coat is gold as well as a gold line running down both sleeves that meet up with 6 button flaps, each with a gold button and gold trim.

(While he doesn't often like to use it he does also have a long Katana that he has at his waist.)

Personality:

James is a very cold and jaded individual. Since his time in college he has since grown to hate humanity as a whole and had an intense disdain for any form of Ant-Mutant sentiment. As such if he ever sees an anti-mutant rally he tends to send people in, if he doesn't do it himself, to disrupt the event and on occasion has even cause people within the rally to begin assaulting one another using his powers.

He is also a very serious and intelligent person and as such doesn't take kindly to mistakes being made when his plans are set into motion. He always views his plans as "fool proof" yet if something goes wrong he finds a way to blame one of those he had sent in to actually do the work. He seems to believe that if he isn't personally involved that if something goes wrong it wasn't because of his planning it was due to someone else's incompetence.

Finally, when he wants to be James can be very charismatic and persuasive, even without using his powers. His intellect mixed with the way he speaks makes it very easy for someone to believe him and feel that he is being truthful with them, this is partly how he is so successful in what he does as a normal job. He is very good at putting on a mask when he needs to and will not hesitate to "kill them with kindness" in order to get his way... However if the person he is dealing with is of little importance or someone who isn't a business consultant he has a habit of wiping their memory and sending them on their way.

History:

James, then known as Samuel Dawson, was born 35 years ago in London, England to two loving, wealthy, parents. They were excited as he was their first, and only, child and the fact he was a boy made it even better. To his father he had someone who could continue on the family line and to his mother she had a little boy to call her own. For most of his life James lived like any normal child would. He went to school, made friends and had fun. However, he always felt a bit different, like he didn't quite fit in with the other kids.

This feeling kept eating at the back of his mind until the reasoning behind it finally became known to him. James was 15 when it all began to happen and it was something he'd never forget. He was a Sophomore in High School and had managed to make it through his Freshman year rather unscathed. However he was seen as one of the "nerds" in the school due to his being rather intelligent and always doing well in school. He figured that so long as he kept to himself he'd be able to get out with no issue but sadly this was not the case.

One day, after the school day had ended, James found himself surrounded in the parking lot by some of the "jock" types. He wasn't much of a fighter back then and as such the group began to close in on him as he stood there in terror. He had no idea why they were doing this or who had egged them on but all he knew was it was not going to end well for him. As they got closer he felt his body move on impulse and he dropped and curled into a ball, starting to cry as he did so. The group slowly moved in closer and the more they did so the more frightened James became.

Suddenly it happened... He wasn't sure what but something happened inside his mind. It was like a dam burst and something came flooding out. His eyes snapped open, glowing a bright blue as they did so. He stood up and threw his arms out to either side, screaming loudly and causing others to look. As his arms went out to his sides an dome of electromagnetic energy exploded out from him, sending everyone around him flying into cars and down onto the pavement hard. As they all scrambled to gather their senses they looked to see him standing there, eyes glowing, and rocks floating around him.

Needless to say after he calmed down he ran home as fast as he could and upon hearing what happened his parents pulled him out of public schooling and allowed him to finish his last two and a half years of school in private schools. However, at this point James knew he was different and when he wasn't at school he began practicing and learning more about what powers he did have and also began working out and signed up for martial arts classes. The next time someone wanted to pick a fight with him... He would be ready in more ways than one.

Luckily, however, nothing much happened after that day. While he knew he was "gifted" as his parents called it, he didn't really use his powers that often. He graduated without issue and decided it was time to start a new life and leave England behind. He applied to some schools over in the United States as an exchange student and with his grades, and his parents money, it was simple. He was given a student Visa and his parents paid the rent on a rather spacious apartment so that he could start his life off right.

Life was different over in the US but it was a good type of different, at least James thought so. He went to classes like any other student but here he gained a bit more attention from the women due to his accent and his time spent working out gave him a less "geeky" appearance since now he had some muscle tone to him. He enjoyed the attention but he knew to keep himself in check for if they knew of his "gifts", or that he was a mutant as he had come to learn since transferring here, they would quickly turn on him. As such he just went on through the first year of college without incident and he enjoyed his time in the US so much that he actually began working toward becoming a citizen (and thanks to his parents money he was fast tracked into the classes he needed).

Sophomore year passed with nothing of note to speak of but his Junior year was when it all changed. Through the first three years of school James had run into another student by the name of Thomas Xavier and the two hit it off rather well. They quickly became friends and soon came to find that the other was a mutant. This only solidified their friendship and they began to work on a plan to try and reveal themselves to the others without causing a scene. Sadly this plan never came to be as other events outside their control began to occur and things began to spiral out of control rather quickly.

There was another student in the school who had hidden their mutant powers from the others but had been revealed in a rather public way. In the middle of a courtyard of the school there was construction going on and a rather large piece of debris fell toward a student. His mutant power was apparently the ability to phase his body out so that the debris simply fell through him rather than on him. He walked away unharmed but everyone in the courtyard saw it. At that point the fear and hatred for mutants began to show itself as students began mocking and harassing the poor kid. James was furious but soon found that other mutants began revealing themselves as a way to stand with the other student. He and Thomas hoped that this would show the others at large that they were normal and, while gifted, weren't really any different... Sadly this was not the case as James soon found out.

Soon the lines were drawn and Anti-Mutant rallies began sparking up throughout the campus. The "normal" humans were going out and damaging the property, homes and cars of the mutants who had come out and beatings of the weaker mutants became regular. The school didn't do anything about it so as to not look like they were defending mutants rights as the political ramifications could cost them money as well as scholarships. James became infuriated with this and soon began to make his own moves. He approached Thomas who seemed hell bent on finding a peaceful solution to everything but James would have none of it. This was where the idea of the Brotherhood of Mutants began and James started it off with a bang.

During a football game James appeared in what would later become his regular mutant attire and floated in the middle of the field. The players all went to grab him but he easily pushed them away with a burst electromagnetic energy. As he floated there he began giving a rather intense speech about how they only wanted to be left alone but now it was not going to be that simple. The humans had drawn the battle lines and now they would have to deal with the consequences. He announced the formation of the Brotherhood and encouraged any mutant who wished to fight the oppression to join him and his cause. He then vanished into the night sky only to find that he had been expelled along with a large group of mutants who had begun to riot after his speech.

James was furious and went to Thomas in hopes that his friend would see his side. Sadly this was not the case and Thomas continued to believe that they could find a peaceful solution to things and that he was actually trying to get James back into the school. James was deeply hurt by this seeming betrayal and apparent naivety from his old friend. It was here that the two went their separate ways and James left the area for good. He found a way to continue finish his Senior year at another college, graduated with a degree, and became a citizen under the name James Lehnsherr. He left his old life behind him and started a new one under this new name and dyed his hair white. In the years since that time James has become a fairly successful business consultant and has become rather wealthy, since he had cut his ties to his family to keep them safe. He now continues to grow and lead the Brotherhood in hopes that one day Mutants will take their rightful place as leaders of the world.
