Powers and Abilities:

• Power Kari has control over gases on the periodic table, as so he is able to form and create new chemical makeups and handle hazardous elements, depending on the amount though it can cause serious bodily harm to Kari.
  He is able to manipulate and control the Noble gases on the periodic table as well as some Halogens and non metals such as Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Fluorine.
  He can also use this as a weapon, shooting streams of gas at an enemy, or increasing the air pressure around an individual, causing them to feel immense pain. Or even making the air more dense so it is harder to breathe, although most of these effect Kari as well as everyone in that area. By drawing the gasses in the air already around Kari he can combine them together to create chemical makeups. Although some of the makeups would become uncontrollable after made.
  For example he could combine oxygen and hydrogen together to make water, but at that state it would just drop onto whatever is under it.
  
  Kari can go from only being able to create the minimalist drop of water to being able to fill a room, all that he needs is the required source of elements to do so. His powers may let him control gasses but it does not let him create matter out of no where. Although manipulation of radioactive gasses can be controlled, but not for extended amounts of time.
  Power Weaknesses:
  Kari is also at risk when he uses his powers to draw the oxygen out of the room, or if he creates a hazardous chemical. Although he can create it that does not mean that he is immune or does not have to breath, his body works like everyone else.
  
  His power created a sort of mental sense with the gasses around him, but decreases his own mental guards making him highly susceptible to mental attacks such as telepaths.
  
  His body also has a sort of self preservation that it goes through if he is ever locked away from a flowing source of oxygen, such as if he were in a air tight room or trapped in a cave. His body intentionally shuts itself down in to a coma like state. During this coma his body pulls gases his body needs to survive towards him, but just enough to keep him alive well he is unconscious. Although it keeps him alive, during this time he is completely immobile and unable to wake up unless exposed to higher amounts of gases.
  
  • Subskill one: Element Seeking: Kari is aware of the air floating around him, he constantly can feel vibrations through it and feel the many types of molecules floating around. Although the ability to differentiate between them is quite difficult without proper understanding of the element structure.
    
  • Subskill two: Element Projection: Kari has the ability to manipulate and move the air around him. As such this allows him to control gas into concentrated streams. The ability also allows him to create things like pressure waves.

Appearance:

Kari has a very small frame mostly because of his age but partially just because that is the way he is, he has a long spindly frame, making him slightly tall for his age, and although he looks rather thin he has quite a good amount of lean muscle.

Kari has the oddest color of dark blue hair that drapes down below his shoulders with its silky and smooth texture. His hair is Kari's pride and joy, he keeps it as clean as possible and well conditioned. Some may say he is quite girl like by managing it so often so but he usually scoffs and walks away.
His eyes are the oddest shade of bright blue that seem to have a eerie shine like they are looking right through you. Their piercing glow seem like they have a rather friendly quality to them, a glimpse into the real Kari even though his outer appearance is hard and cold.

Clothing:
He is often very clean and well kept, mostly because he doesn’t enjoy being dirty at all as he thinks it is below him.
He tends to wear dark and brooding clothes, that make people tend to think he is a bad person. Although most of his wardrobe seems dark and eerie he does happen to wear bright colors on special occasions. Although no matter what types of clothes he wears he often has many a different assortment of bracelets and other things decorating his arms.

Personality:

Kari is often light headed and as most would call him a daydreamer, most of the time works to think things out before he does them although that plan doesn't always fall through.

Sure he stays calm and try's not to let anything get to him, but he has a problem when people ask to many questions, or more or less bug him to no end.

He often doesn’t show his emotion, which has made most people drift away from him because of his rather cold nature. Kari can be very patent when he wants to be, but more than often he has trouble paying attention to one thing for a prolonged period of time.

To most he seems like a spoiled rich boy and mostly that is what he is, he has trouble not getting what he wants and if he is refused he usually goes off sulking somewhere until he thinks it through and comes back.

Kari doesn't like to go off the handle and he often knows what’s best, or at least he thinks he does.
To most people he seems like one of the people who you usually never notice because of his quiet attitude, sitting on a bench somewhere as everyone passed by without saying a word.
Although he seems cold and distant he has a soft side that no one sees.

History:

Born in a small family as an only child Kari was protected by his family, often being sheltered and over cared for. Needless to say the over pressuring demands of his parents led Kari to being a rebel of sorts, staying out late without warning, smoking and even the locational act of vandalism. He went to a large school on the edge of New York in the suburbs with many other people, only making friends in his own sort of crowd, never being one to spread out much. He constantly complained about his parents having a curfew for him and he sneaked out constantly, disregarding his parents rules. One time as he sunk out a van pulled up where him and several of his Friends where hanging out and he was mugged.

Although he escaped with only minor injuries he was weak and couldn't continue running, soon he found himself passed out on a bench in the middle of central park. He had quite the headache when he woke up he had one hell of a headache, he wandered around the park for a while eventually stumbling into the street.

Although he was to delirious at the time to realize what he was doing he continued to walk forward, cars buzzing by quickly and he started to step out off the sidewalk.
His eyes were half open, otherwise he probably would of noticed the faint trail of smoke drifting up from his mouth and out into the air.
Then something happened that made him come to his senses, there was a loud noise, a car horn to be more precise. And not only that but it was getting louder as the car got closer. Kari snapped to his senses and raised his hands covering his face. But in a instant the car was screeching as it rolled on its roof across the asphalt. He looked around, and then quickly checked himself but he was fine. Little did Kari know he had just changed the gases around the car to become incredibly thin, causing it to fly in to the air, before quickly dropping back down to earth.

This was the first time that Kari even realized that he had mutant powers, although he was more confused then he was surprised.
After all it wasn't every day that you could send a car flipping end over end and land behind you.

Begrudgingly he registered himself as a mutant, although decided to keep the fact hidden from everyone he knew. After all he didn't have any signs of being a mutant, other than his blue hair and almost glowing eyes. But for the most part he could pass for a normal person.
Kari was determined to keep the fact that he was a mutant a secret, after all he didn't want people discriminating because he was different, besides he didn't think his power would appear again, unless it needed to.
So he returned to school, everyone none the wiser and he acted like a normal human, denying any accusations of being a mutant.

Hello, Kari. Welcome to X-men: oppression. I really like your app, and might I say that your Champion is very attractive, but I ran across one major problem with your powers.

I'm sorry, but this does not go with Aerokinesis what-so-ever. You cannot have both Aerokinesis and the ability to manipulate gases from the periodic table. The two are not one in the same. The two are completely different from one another. You can only have one. It seems as if you are leaning towards the manipulation of gasses rather than Aerokinesis. If you don't wish to make drastic changes to your app, I suggest you go with that one, but if you want to stay with Aerokinesis, that's cool too, but you can't have both. Everything else looks great.

in my defense i would like to state that i was under the assumption that the power had to fall under a pre-made category. I chose to use the manipulation of gasses, and thought this related to the category of controlling and moving air.
Thus the selection of Aerokinesis, however is this is not the case I will promptly modify my character to fit within the parameters.

I have a question about the powers. It says you can make new chemical makeups, but some of the elements cannot be made through natural means. Can he make those or is he limited to those that occur naturally?

Also, to clarify, he can only manipulate the elements that are readily available, correct?

He is limited to controlling the elements that occur naturally, however he can combine these together to create different gasses, such as chloroform or something of the like.

The main problem with this is that the process to do so also needs the knowledge to do so. Proper understanding of the different molecules, what they can combine with, and what pressures and temperatures that they start to combine.
Without that knowledge Kari basically can only create basic makeups that occur naturally.


And to answer your second question yes, he is limited to what elements are present in order to manipulate.
Such as in a city there would be more pollutants in the air compared to the more natural gasses located somewhere like south america. So depending on location varies the types of chemicals he could readily use.

The thing I'm worried about is you creating nuclear material or something that can only be created in high-tech labs. Like, I'm wondering if you can create diamonds? That's basically carbon, but requires high pressure. Plus there's a number of elements that require special equipment and such. That's what I"m wondering about. What kind of equipment functions can Kari duplicate?

he can only control movement. Which leads into pressure and temperature.
pressure by either flooding a area with molecules, or creating a vacuum by causing a area with no molecules.
Temperature by causing at what rate the molecules vibrate against each other.

The problem with creating nuclear material would be that he would have to smash two atoms together without hitting another molecule in the way. As well as creating a vacuum for them to pass through, and causing them to reach the proper speed.
And at that rate the atoms hitting, the pressure involved, or the heat would probably kill him.


To put it bluntly most makeups Kari could not produce on his own, although if he was in the presence of the element he could control it. The problem with this is that Kari's body is still essentially human. Sure he could create a cloud of nerve gas, but if he was to breath any of it then it would still kill him.

Ok when he draws the oxygen out of a room with someone else in it. You say he goes into coma then draws needed gases to him, what about the other person? It doesnt help? This makes it unfair to the opponent, I mean in around 6 minutes the brain cells start to die without oxygen, the heart needs oxygen all the time, and without breathing for a while they start to react with twitching, their body trying to gain oxygen.

Example : Someone holds their breathe after maybe a minute, meaning to even kill you it would be hard with a body going crazy trying to gain air.

Actually I stated that if he was sealed in a airtight room his body would go into a coma like state.
If he made a room void of air turning it into a vacuum he would pass out and his powers would no longer be in effect well he is unconscious thus negating the effect.

The second problem with this is that creating a vacuum inside a atmosphere of a planet is very difficult, and the outside pressure would cause gas to fill the area once again. Unless given a airtight space with high enough structure to contain a vacuum it would nearly be impossible for kari to kill someone in that fashion.


In regards to pulling oxygen out of the room this would not cause Kari to pass out, instead it would kill him in the same fashion as any other human. He could fill a room with carbon dioxide and survive as long as he could hold his breath longer than the other person.
Kari is not immune to lack of specific gasses, but his body goes into a coma when in the presence of no gasses.
