Kari didn't know why he was doing this, he just felt that he had to, the idea's buzzing through his head. He was standing on top of a tall building, about five stories off the ground looking down at the alley below him. He bit his lip softly as he begun to think about what he was doing.
Lately his powers had become more and more active, just going off on their own whenever they felt like it. He wasn't the kind who was going to ask for help about it, so he figured that if he was going to control them he had to lean how on his own.
So he had decided to do just that and try and get his powers under control, although he still didn't have any idea what they were exactly, after all they had just seemed random and erratic every time they went off. So he figured he ought to get them to work the same way he had in the first place. He decided he had to scare his powers out.
Slowly he closed his eyes, trying not to think about what he was doing as his foot began to move forward off the ledge. It hung there in mid air for a moment before Kari felt himself tipping forward, falling off the building.
His eyes snapped open as he realized what he was doing and he yelled as the air rushed past him. Suddenly he stopped, after falling four stories down, his body suspended in the air. The molecules around him becoming denser and making him float there, he breathed heavily before looking around and realizing that there was nothing holding him up, the ground looming one story beneath him his only way back to land, but he had no idea how to maneuver himself.
He gulped and cleared his throat, trying to move his arms a little like it would help, but he continued to stay floating there. Suddenly he heard someone coming and he gasped, his body floating in air and he didn't know what to do.

Karma had seen it all. The older teen had stepped off the ledge without even thinking about it. It caused a wicked smile to spread on her lips. It was rather amusing, really. She didn't know if this guy was committing suicide or what, but he was now floating midair as if being held by something, perhaps an invisible force. Either way, this guy was a mutie.
She walked up, making bubbles with her bubble gum. She wore a sleeveless shirt that was rather flammatory; it had a hand that was holding up its middle finger. Her cargo pants had a camoflauge pattern and her sneakers were worn loosely on her feet, just how she liked it so that her feet could breathe. The baseball bat she wore on her head was backwards with her goggles strapped around it. Her hair, messy, as usual, and very pink. Karma walked up to him in a complete casual manner. She paused in front of him and smiled up at him. He was a pretty good looking guy.
"That was brilliant," she said with a rather heavy sarcastic tone, "What are you gonna do now, smart one?"

Shade spied with his little eye someone.... Jumping off a friggin' building?! Geeze, of all the ways to kill yourself, why on earth would you choose THAT?! You'll spend all that time falling and wondering why you would do something this stupid in the first place. At least a bullet through the brain showed commitment to what you were doing. ...Well this was a rather dark tone of thought... Maybe he had been spending too much time in the shadows...
Tony leapt inside of the shadows and reappeared closer to the scene of the suicide. Or rather... Attempted suicide? Because the guy wasn't dead. Far from it, he was floating about a story off the ground. So either this guy was a mutant or some mutant had stopped his perilous plummet. It could be the extremely flamboyant chick who was standing in front of the floating guy. By the look of her, she looked out of place, even by a mutant's standards, but he probably shouldn't judge a book by it's cover...
"That was brilliant. What are you gonna do now, smart one?"
...Or she could be a bit of a bitch... Considering her voice, she hadn't been the one to stop him, though judging by how calm she was, she was a mutant herself no doubt. So that meant this guy hanging in the air was a mutant too... He must've been testing his powers out and found himself in a tough fix. Just like when he had teleported himself to the Grand Canyon and was stuck there for the night. He might as well help the guy out if she wasn't going to.
"Well considering how stuck he looks, maybe you could, oh I don't know, help him? A lot better than taunting him..."
Shade crossed his arms and gave the girl a pointed look as the shadows formed a staircase beneath the floating young man. But she was the one who had captured his attention now. Could she have been part of the Brotherhood...? The snarky attitude and unkempt look pretty much assured him of that... If she was, a whole lot of trouble as going to come his way if these two were together...

Kari looked upward suddenly to see a shadowed outline of a woman walking slowly toward him from down the alleyway. He grumbled, really not needing a situation like this to happen, after all he came here because he thought it would be empty.
He tried again to move himself but only spun a little, his body floating as if in zero gravity. The calmness of the girl after Kari had started to float shocked him the most, as she didn't seem the least bit fazed that Kari was floating off of the ground. Although this either meant one of two things, either she didn't care about mutants, or she was completely oblivious. His mind started to race when he though of different possibilities, although seeing someone with powers in this town wasn't something completely out of the ordinary.
Although after a few moments the girl spoke out at Kari's stunt. He grumbled as she started mocking him, causing a soft blush to appear. He didn't even want to retaliate at the girls words, after all he wasn't in the situation to anger one of the only people who could help him at the moment. "Listen... its no-" His words were halted by the noise of another person approaching.
He was stunned to see some boy walking up from the other end of the alley, and after a moment of him being there it seemed as if a staircase just appeared out of nowhere underneath Kari. He grabbed hold and pulled himself down toward the ground slowly. Although as soon as his body started to exit the high density of the air around where he was floating, he soon found gravity effecting him again.
He fell for a good five feet before landing on his back with a solid thump a few feet away from the two. "Dammit......"

Karma turned her head as an intruder suddenly appeared. Man, was everyone in this god damn city nosy or something? Yeah, she knew the answer to that one. Of course they were! Especially X-men. She recognized this guy immediately. It was her job to know who their enemies were, after all. Who did he think he was waltzing up to scold her?
"Who the hell do you think you are," she began, "scolding me about helping the guy out when he clearly just tried to commit suicide? Fuck off, Nosy Dick. You weren't invited to this party."
As far as I'm concerned, this guy's just looking for trouble. If that's what he's looking for, that's what he's gonna fucking get!
She crossed her arms, glaring at him with piercing hazel eyes. She didn't like his attitude one bit. If it had just been him and the other suicidal guy, things might have turned out fine. She might have even helped him figure out his powers, but no. This guy just had to ruin everything. Her day was going so good, too. Maybe she just needed to teach him a lesson. Didn't his parents ever teach him to mind his own business? If anything, he should be worrying about the guy who tried to jump off the building rather than the girl who was standing there teasing him about it. The guy was a complete moron.
Karma was bluffing. She knew he wasn't trying to kill himself. He was just trying to figure out his powers. What is a better way to learn than to put yourself at risk? Karma thought the guy was a genius. When she arrived she had planned on helping him out by forcing him to help himself. It was the best way to learn to control powers. She smirked as she watched the guy fall over and hit the dirt on his back. She realized what he wanted. Mutants were discriminated everywhere. He probably didn't know who to ask or where to go to control his powers.
"You need more control," she said, "If you wanna learn to control those powers of yours, you should come with me. I'll help you out. That's what you want, right?"
((lol I love how you called her a woman when she's a girl and him a boy when he's a man. ))

Shade laughed to himself at the girls pathetic excuse for name calling. Nosy Dick? Really? He had heard better insults flung on an elementary school playground. Hers ranked about as high as Boogerbreath. Maybe Poopoohead level, but that would be when he is having a bad day.
"Haha... Are we really going into petty insults now? My don't we think ourselves all grown up? Trust me little girl, I'm not being nosy. It's called concern. Maybe you have heard of such an emotion. Would do you some good to learn it.
He watched the girl walk up to the young man and try to recruit him... Maybe he was correct in his Brotherhood assumption? Or maybe she was just some random mutant trying to gather their own little pose. Either to survive or maybe to do something worse... He didn't know this girls powers... What if she had some sort of absorption power like Rogue and ended up killing the guy to drain him of his abilities? Shade just felt something rotten about this young woman and this caused him to glare at her.
"Why don't you just leave the guy alone? After all, you didn't want to help him when he was floating high up in the air. If you really wanted to help him, you had plenty of time to do so. Professor Xavier seems better off in teaching about his powers than some brat with daddy issues."

Kari grumbled rather unhappily as he pushed himself up from the hard terra firma beneath him. His head was buzzing slightly from the fall and he was really quite annoyed the whole situation had ended up being so dramatic. Then again what did he expect, most people come running when they think someone is trying to commit suicide. He looked around dazed for a moment before he heard the two others arguing about something or other. Although it seemed the girl was much more annoyed with the situation than the guy.
Slowly Kari made his way back to his feet, only to find the girl standing there right in front of him.
"You need more control"
Her words rang through his mind as he looked at her. Of course it had taken Kari a while to figure that one out by now, but it seemed obvious to the other two.
"If you wanna learn to control those powers of yours, you should come with me. I'll help you out. That's what you want, right?"
"You know how to help?" Although as soon as the words had left his mouth the guy across the alley started shouting something about someone else who may be able to help him. Kari started to rub the side of his head, the noise of the two arguing was giving him a bit of a headache.
"Shut up both of you! What the hell is going on?" There was a soft hiss in the alley as the pressure in the air started to build. Not enough to cause any harm, but enough to cause the others to feel as if there was a weight pushing down on them.

When he said the name 'Professor Xavier' she knew right away that he was a part of the X-men. That explained the attitude.
"Well," she began, "it seems to me like Mr. High and mighty here doesn't want me offering my help to you. And I was trying to help, just not in the way he might consider what it is to help someone. Not directly. I was trying to get you to help yourself instead of having someone bail you out of the problem. Is that so wrong? He thinks that their fucking way is the only way, or it's the high way, clearly as he is trying to get rid of me. The X-men are a bunch of closed minded jackasses that love to jump to conclusion and butt their heads into problems they shouldn't even bother with. Maybe that's why people hate them so much."
In her opinion, he had no right to the stranger she had tried to save in her own way. She was there first, so she had dibs. He was the one sticking his nose where it didn't belong. And he didn't even know her!
What were the odds of that guy's pants dropping in front of them? She wondered. Karma winked and suddenly, the black haired guy's pants dropped with his underwear and everything. His junk was in full view of anyone who saw. She gives him a long, impressed whistle then chuckles. "Haha! What are the odds of that?"
Karma then casually turned to the tall guy with the blue hair after displaying her power, with that same dangerous smile on her face. She balanced her baseball bat behind her neck, wrapping her arms around it. Her eyes narrowed in a laid back manner. "Ehh, do whatever the fuck you wanna do, I don't really give a shit. But if you ever decide to take up my offer, my door is always open." [/color] [karma exits]

Huh... Did it suddenly get breezy? He looked down to see he was exposed in more ways than one. The girl gave a whistle at the sight and Shade couldn't help but feel a bit of pride, even if she was being sarcastic about it. He pulled his pants back up casually, wondering about the girl's tone. The way she had spoken, it sounded like she had been the culprit. Well obviously, pants and underwear don't just fall on their own. So was she telekinetic? Or was it some other power...?
"Aw, thank you. You really raised my self-esteem there, Powderpuff. And, if this guy had lost control, fallen to the ground and broken his neck, I'm sure he would have been positively THRILLED for that help you were giving him."
Shade felt the air around him start to grow heavy as the blue hair lad narrowed his eyes. No doubt due to the fact he was pissed, it was causing him to use his powers. Well that had a good chance of getting someone hurt... One mistakenly spilled mocha latte and someone could find themselves crushed or maybe, since he could keep himself afloat for a bit there, send them flying into space.
"Alright, alright. Let's relax okay? As that girl said, I'm a part of the X-men. We're a group of mutants, though anyone who watches TV or uses the internet would know probably know that... Professor Xavier is... well let's call him the school's headmaster. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Lame name, I know, but him and the teachers there know what they're talking about. A lot more than Pink Panther over there. There they can teach you to control your powers and use them to help the world."
Shade scratched his head. How could he convince him this girl was bad news and that he had his best interests at heart...? Well considering what she was wearing and that she was carrying a baseball bat seemed enough proof but maybe not for this kid. And Shade wasn't going to force him into joining the X-men... He doubted he could anyway.
"Look all I'm saying is that I want to help you out. If you trust me or not is up to you. You have your own brain and heart, so you make the decision. But be sure you think it through alright? Because some decisions you just can't take back... No matter how you want to..."

Kari's eyes darted back and forth between the two, he was still quite confused with the entire situation. But at this point he had managed to gather enough information to realize he was stuck in the middle of some mutant dispute. The name the guy had mentioned 'Xavier' sounded familiar to him, although he never tried to pay attention to what was happening with other mutants.
Suddenly he found the silence broken, the girl chiming out and ranting at the other guy. Although the noise of her shouting just started to further his headache. He started rubbing the side of his head again and closed his eyes, only to open them again when he heard the girl whistle. As soon as he looked up his face turned a bright red. Quickly he closed his eyes again and looked away.
He waited a few moments before the guy had managed to pull his pants back up. Although after a few more unkind words between the two his attention snapped to the guy as he started telling him to calm down. His headache started to fade slowly as the guy described some kind of school for mutants. He grumbled quietly and looked away from the guy. "I know how to use my abilities...." Sure he was lying, but he wasn't the kind of guy who would ask for help either.
He glanced back upward for a moment to notice the girl had mysteriously disappeared from the alleyway. He looked back over at the guy standing there and scratched the back of his head. "Well ummm..... Thanks though. For helping me get down and all." His voice was soft, a slight blush on his face as he appologised to the guy.
He grumbled, embarrassed that he even had ended up in such a mess in the first place. He looked over at the guy for a moment before pulling a cigarette out of his pocket and placing it in his mouth. He lit it and took a drag softly before turning and walking out of the alley.
