Powers and Abilities:
- Polonium Oil: Spirit has the ability to transform her body into a liquid known as Polonium Oil for an innumerable amount of time. Her liquid form is entirely identical to water, though upon chemical examination, it's properties are easily differentiated between. This ability leaves Spirit unable to be hurt by physical attacks, though things such as heat which force her liquid "body" to evaporate quickly can still injure her. Whenever she transforms into her liquid form, there is a single complex molecule called the Polonium Core which acts as her brain. So long as this core remains in tact, she cannot be killed, as from this core, her body will slowly regenerate upon major injury. However, if injured while in liquid form, it may take time for her to regenerate enough liquid to reform her body in perfect health. Finally, while in Polonium Oil form, she does not age. Thus, she can achieve "time travel" into the future by freezing herself to dethaw at a later date. The major downside to this ability is that she cannot transform her clothing and must leave all items behind.
- Liquidification: Spirit has the ability to turn into Polonium Oil at will. She has high control over this ability and can maintain Polonium form for as long as she wishes. If she takes heavy damage while in her liquid form, she can still reform her body, however, she will lose a proportional part of her body. For example, if her liquid form was forced to evaporate or a considerable mass of the liquid is otherwise separated and she didn't wait to fully regenerate, she could still reform her body, but she may have to sacrifice and arm or a leg. While in her liquid form, Spirit has learned to move. She can scale up surfaces.
- Mind Control: This is Spirit's most advanced ability. After going into her liquid form, she is able to take over the bodies of others via ingestion. If someone drinks her or is injected with her in some way shape or form, she can infiltrate their bloodstream. She will eventually make her way to their brain, and once there, she can seize control of their brain. She can maintain control of their body for so long as she wishes, however, when in mortal danger, or in extreme pain, she may decide to leave the body. She can exit through the pores in the body, tear ducts, the urinary tract, sweat glands, etc. Once exited, the person will not remember anything from after she seized control.
- Shapeshifting: Just as Spirit has the ability to go from her liquid form back into her true form, she can also morph into other human forms by changing her own features and shape. This ability enables her to take the form of any human of any race, age, or size. However, there are some downsides to this ability. First and foremost, she can't switch between forms directly. She must first revert to her form as a puddle of Polonium Oil in between. Secondly, she can only transform into something she has seen or is looking at. This means she misses some details, such as tattoos and piercings if they were not completely visible. As she uses a template of her own body to transform and simply alters her true form to look like her target, she also finds it near impossible to properly mold and copy realistic, let alone functional, male genitalia, which can pose a big problem for her, especially since she cannot forge her own clothes during a transformation, but must acquire them. Finally, her transformations bare in no way the genetic structure of the person she is transforming into. All of the cells in the body are still Spirit's cells. They carry her DNA, and not the person of whom she is transforming. This goes for fingerprints as well. The only thing that alternates about her fingerprints through her transformation is their sizes, but not the patterns.
Appearance:Spirit has white hair, just as does the majority of her family. She often wears it in a ponytail. Her eyes are blue, and very often, she can be seen smiling. One thing that has become very controversial is her choice of dress. She dresses rather "skimpy" at times. Her short shorts are so short and thin that they more closely resemble underwear, particularly because of their laces. Her top, which is tied together by a ribbon, is also just enough to cover what needs to be covered.
Because of this, however, she doesn't have much room to carry much with her, however, it isn't necessary considering that when she uses her powers, she can only liquify herself and must leave all else behind. This can be both a blessing and a curse depending on the situation.
Personality:Spirit is a rather determined patriot to mutant-kind. She places her mutant brethren above all else, even her family, whom she has forsaken in order to seek out others like her (mutants) and help bring equality to all. As opposed to some other mutants, particularly those in the Brotherhood, Spirit does not seek to segregate humans and mutants, nor does she seek to eradicate humans, but rather to allow them to merge under the belief that one day, human kind will evolve into a superior race regardless.
This being said, she does not mind manipulating situations into her favor. With her powers of complete mind control, she can take over the minds of influential people and control them to say what she wants without any ill consequence to her conscience. In addition, she understands that sacrifices must be made to accomplish her goals and is willing to kill anyone, mutant or human, who stands in the way of equality.
One dream that Spirit has is starting a family of her own some day. She does plan on getting married in the future and having a few children, but she isn't rushing this either. She believes that her first duty comes in bringing equality to mutant-kind. She believes that this way, her children will be born within a world worth living.
History:Born under the name of Ariana Rouge, Spirit began her life in Paris, France. Her parents were millionaires, both running a spectacular business of clothes lines servicing the entertainment industry. The two of them loved their daughter, Ariana and often used her to display their clothelines as a model.
Ariana didn't mind this, and enjoyed modeling whatever lines of clothing her parents had. She was able to develop a stylish fashion sense at a young age. However, because of this, she didn't get a chance to meet other children around her age and was almost always dealing with adults and business. She was homeschooled. A teacher traveled along with her nearly everywhere that she went to teach her whatever it was that she needed to know.
Unfortunately, when she turned 13 and in tandem with puberty her body began to liquify. Over the course of 3 days, she was transformed into Polonium Oil. Her parents forced her to see a doctor who attempted to figure out what was wrong. However, after identifying her as a mutant, he realized that there was little he could do to help her. She fully sublimated into Polonium Oil and her parents as well as the doctor left her for dead. Her sublimated remnants were discarded into the ocean.
It was 7 long years before Spirit was able to figure out how to transform back into her human form. During all of that time, she was conscious, only she couldn't figure out how to become herself once again. For 7 long years, she had been alone and without the ability to interact with other humans.
However, solidifying herself left her stranded in the middle of the ocean. She needed to find civilization again. This required a long trek through the ocean which lasted for yet another year. She simply swam through the water in human form, however, when she grew tired, she reverted to a liquid form.
After some years, she ended up making her way to the shores of New York. She had been able to spot Lady Liberty from far away. When she finally made it to shore, she was nude, homeless, and stranded. Not to mention, she always seemed to be sweating this weird substance of Polonium Oil, which made her easily identifiable as a mutant.
It was at this point in time where she had to deal with quite a bit of prejudice toward her. No one wished to be around the creepy mutant girl. Getting her hands on clothes was incredibly difficult as well, but she managed to do so through stealing. It was during this period of time where she felt the need to strive toward mutant equality.
Spirit spent some years on her own, unable to mix in with society, however, luck would have it that she met a man named Magneto. He took her in and helped her develop her powers. With this, she became a part of, and eventually a leader of, the Brotherhood of Mutants
