In national news, current Mutant Rights Activist, Senator Thomas Bradhfort, has been comprehensively interrogated for his baffling and unexpected conversion to Mutant Tolerance. In his press conference early this morning, he tenaciously vocalized his desire for a repeal of the Mutant Registration Act. What has caused Senator Thomas Bradhfort's spontaneous change of heart is unknown, but it goes to show just how unpredictable even politicians can be.
Sarah K. Johnson, Washington Post, D.C.
"Oh! Look! I made the news!" The middle-aged politician said with a wide smirk. He had the paper laid down on the table and a mug of coffee to the right of it. That press conference had happened much earlier in the day. It was now nearly 8PM, and the diner he was in was near empty. It was a great place to just sit back and relax.
"Some more French Fries would be nice, please!" The man shouted kindly out to the waitress behind the counter. He reached into his pocket and pulled out another 15 or so dollars and set it down on the table as he awaited his food.
"Next, the president," Thomas said under his breath as he returned his attention to the newspaper on the table and went back to reading with astounding vigor.

Many a things could be found out about a person based on how they ate their food. Men tend to eat using one of their hands, while women find solace in using both to enjoy their meals. In the case of the random unknown man sitting at the back of the table at a local restaurant it wasn't uncommon to see him eating a simple meal using one hand while playing with some device in another. He was a household name that had spent most of his free time alone, thinking to himself.
Yet looking at the senator, the truth of the matter was simple. If there was something to have been changed in the media, someone skilled and capable should be the one to do so. The nanobots which he had stolen were still broken into two pieces, but for the most part they could still take basic commands. The process of shaping these things was expensive, complex, and mildly annoying... however the idea of using them correctly was something which Rekcah had taken great pride him.
From a distance, several tables away Rekcah could feel one of the experimental nanomachines based off the nanobot technology he had created crawling across his hands. The machine itself roughly only one centimeter in size, and easily capable of fitting into his palm. In a single gulp however, both the machine and the remains of a small burger were removed from Rekcah's hands.
"Crass..." Rekcah thought to himself as he watched the television before him slowly pressing the matter of the politician attempting to 'change sides'. The idea of using such a technique was something he had thought of. Hell, it would be fair to say he would approve of such techniques given the proper time and place. However, for the pup to go out on her own attempting to take the reins... it was troubling in a sense.
Slowly standing to his feet and dusting his hands off of the remains of his meal, Stephen Eisenhardt stood to his feet and made his way towards the Senator. Stephen Eisenhardt , hard working business man who poured tons of money into just about any charity, media outlet, and anything he could get his hands on really. After all, it wasn't uncommon for someone such as himself to engage in conversation with such a powerful political figure... was it?
"My, my, my Senator. What a pleasure it is meeting someone of your level here." Rekcah spoke wearing a fine light blue business suit from having just gotten off of 'work' for the night. His sharp eyes glaring directly at the 'Senator' awaiting for a response. Worst case scenario, this was the actual senator and he'd get some off beat response about why someone of Rekcah's level would be interested in politics. Yet, if it was whom he suspected then this little exchange would be quite 'informative' to say the least.

Thomas' ear twitched when he heard someone approaching him. Instantly, Thomas recognized who this person was. To think that they'd meet here of all places. Thomas couldn't help other than to think that Stephen was tracking his movements. This seemed like a bit too much of a coincidence, however, this was a casual hangout spot for both of them, especially Thomas, at least in spirit. Thomas grinned as he shifted his attention from the Newspaper to the man now approaching him.
Good Evening, Stephen," Thomas greeted the man.Thomas then raised his right hand to gesture toward the seat opposite from him on the other side of the table. "Care to join me?"
The was no doubt in Thomas' mind now that Rekcah had figured out his true identity. At the very least, his suspicions had grown much stronger. Nonetheless, Thomas had very little reason to hide his true identity from Rekcah. If there was anyone he could trust, he felt it was Rekcah, after all.
"I didn't expect to see you out here tonight," Thomas confessed. "I suppose you are keeping tabs on me? Perhaps you have been reading the news."

Touching the sides of his head with a slight sigh unleashing itself from underneath his breath. The actions of the 'politican' did a fairly good job of disclosing who was truly in control of the events as he had suspected. It was one thing to seem friendly, however, it was another for the two of them to act as old time buddies. Quickly attempting to retcon the lax nature portraited by the 'Senator' Rekcah quickly began to provide a nod of approval aimed at the figure sitting before him.
"Really senator." Rekcah spoke as he turned his body into the seat which had been offered to him. Sitting slightly adjacent to the man whom had offered it to him just moments ago. Despite the serious nature of Rekcah when it came to dealing with the brotherhood, he had gotten quite use to seperating his emotions using the near infinite amounts of information he'd assmilated. "Isn't it a bit too loose to speak to me so relaxed after having made such a dramatic change in your polticial standing?" With a slight false grin coming from the side of his mouth as though attempting to become friendlier, Rekcah continued before removing his jacket which lay over his suit. "Besides, you can't really tell who listens to what you have to say and who's simply waiting to use something against you."
The truth of the words were simplistic in both their meaning and execution. It wasn't something that Rekcah did often, but when advice was required, he would always have to step in to put the other Brotherhood members back in line. Despite what he'd seen on the news, there was still a chance that the actions of the 'Senator' would be far too broad and someone might look into why he'd taken such a turnabout stance on Mutants. Regardless, he still needed to keep a proper front considering just who he was in the eyes of the public. It was something that he'd wish he could have shown the handfull of second hand lackies he'd been allowing to act as leader's of the brotherhood.
"Keeping tabs on you? I have no idea what you mean Senator." Rekcah spoke before slowly glancing around the area attempting to identify anyone in the area who he'd gained any information on being a major threat. With a quick survey through the camera's layered within the resturant, the mutant could at least track the movements of everyone in the room for the time being. It was unknown if anyone was following him using some complex means of technology or another, but to be safe Rekcah attempted to cut off the feed to all electronics within the resturant. In an instant all celluar devices began roaming as if in an entirely different of the world, camera's began to loop over the same feed they'd gained over the past hour, while radio's found only static.
With a single grin of approval from having disabled any form of tracking within the area, Rekcah continued on as if in casual conversation. "I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to politics honestly. Never much had a hand for them myself... how about you inform of the ongoings yourself then Mister Senator." Rekcah turned to face the figure while he remained sitting down, quietly scanning the remaining nearby area to see if anything was wrong.

Michael walked down a hall, chatting with a junior senator. The only real reason he was in New York was to chat up the politicians. Division funding wasn't cheap and keeping the funding steady wasn't easy. So he had to play nice with every anti-mutant asshole. Good thing he was patient. It was like breaking down a brick wall with a toffee hammer.
He left the government building and checked the time. It was late and he was starving. Checking his wallet, he looked around for some place to eat. There were a variety of vendors, but none of them seemed very appealing. Eventually he found a diner that looked promising. The door rang as he walked in, followed by a greeting by a woman behind the bar. He sat down and ordered a large sandwich, fries, and a beer. What better way to end a busy day than a sandwich and beer?
As he waited, Michael cast a habitual glance around him, scanning the other people in the diner. Most were unimpressive, common pedestrians eating and a group of teens drinking coffee in the corner booth. The mutant paused when he saw Senator Bradfort.
The Senator was a semi-ally of Division, at least in Michael's mind. He admitted the Senator's harder stance on mutant tolerance could reach too far sometimes, he appeared to have the same sentiments towards necessary policing that Michael felt. But all that changed earlier. While Michael was talking up a few defense committee members, Bradfort was changing his stance on mutants.
And now he was in Division's line of sight. Repealing the Mutant Registration Act would render their job much harder. And a 180 shift was more than a little suspicious. From what Michael could deduce, there were only a few reasons someone like him would do that:
A: He had gained mutant abilities. B: Someone close to him had gained mutant abilities. Perhaps his family. C: He was being bribed or blackmailed by someone. D: He was being controlled by a mutant.
There were very few mutants to Michael's memory that could do the last, but any of them deserved at least a bit of questioning. He stood, telling the waitress to hold his order, and walked over.
"Senator Bradfort, nice to see you here. I'm Michael Rush, Division CO. We met a few years ago during the last inspection." Michael looked at the other man there and nodded. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but could I ask you a few questions? It's Division policy to inquire on all significant mutant-related politics."

Now that Stephen sat at the table alongside him, Thomas felt that he could let his guard down, if only a little. He watched as people in the area began to stare at their phones with what were nothing less than baffled expressions. Mutants really did have that power. They were puzzling to the regular people. It was for this reason that they were misunderstood and discriminated against. Thomas couldn't really care less about their perspectives so long as they gave mutants an equal chance at life.
Thomas took another sip of his coffee before setting it back down on the table once again. Before he could get so much as a chance to respond to Stephen's comments, it appeared that yet another person was joining them. Thomas sighed. It didn't seem as though he was going to get to enjoy his newspaper and a quiet dinner after all. Her folded his fingers beneath the paper and began to roll it up. He then set it to his side on the booth.
"Guess I'll have to push my pleasure reading to later, then," Thomas said. He had now turned his attention to the Michael Rush of Division. Yes, Thomas knew very well of division. He didn't particularly care for them much though. Especially not now. Thomas looked down at the empty table before him. His irritation was now becoming increasingly visible. His cheeks turned flush red. Hatred. He hated this division member with every bit of his soul.
"You... make me sick," he muttered under his breath. Thomas began to ball his fist, and doing so, he began to squeeze his coffee cup. The contents of the cup were pushed upward and poured out from the top of the cup and onto Thomas's hand, burning his skin.
"God-fucking damn it!" The politician screamed as his skin burned due to the scorching hot liquid now on the palm of his hand. He stood up from the booth where he sat.
"If you two gentlemen will please excuse me for a moment, I'll be right back."
Without another word, Thomas hurriedly made his way to the men's restroom.

Before any serious talks could be brought up about dealing with just about anything of importance they were quickly interrupted by some random person whom Rekcah had come to know quite well. A mutant with abilities ad strength that were the only driving force behind 'The Division'. His name was Micheal Rush, as he had introduced himself, ad the files that Rekcah had gone through from the government didn't lie about that much either.
However, the question was raised as to why he was here bothering two men in the midst of a coversation. There was no evidence that either Senator Bradfort or himself had done anything wrong. For the most part, there wasn't even any real reason for the man to be here as far as Rekcah could see. Attempting to stand firmly by his business facade all the while checking Micheal for any electronics in a single sweep, it was time that Stephen Eisenhardt once again made his presence and influence known.
"How rude of you." Rekcah began to speak towards Thomas all the while wearing a single face lacking of any and all expression. "You introduce yourself, quite literally interrupting our conversation. You make no attempt to introduce yourself to me, despite having never seen me." Like a true rich individual, Rekcah began to sound off each and every problem he had come across with this 'Micheal Rush' trying to stay true to his nature. With luck, the errors of the young man's ways would at least cause for him to stop interrupting.
Slowly raising a single hand to his mouth and covering it for a cough. A small fragment of mist shot from his mouth. Mucus? Blood? Saliva? In most cases, one would assume those to be it. Unfortunately, when Rekcah was involved, it was rarely 'most cases'. In the midst of his cough, one of the tiny nanobots produced from within his body of the nanomachine's doing their work found itself onto his hand. Untraceable with the naked eye, all around no more noticing then a blood cell.
Slowly removing his hand from his mouth for a moment, Rekcah started to speak once again. "Besides... I don't know what your little 'Division' does. But unless you are a need to know basis introducing yourselves to the rest of us non-mutant and political following humans, then it would be proper to introduce yourself." Standing to his feet and grabbing a hold of his jacket with one of his free hands, Rekcah quickly turned and looked towards the men's bathroom.
"I'm going to go see if the good senator is ok." Rekcah spoke as he took the camera's visibly on himself and Micheal off their loop and took aim at both of them. Placing one hand towards Micheal, he quickly began finish off his sentence. "Please, give us a moment before you continue with your verbal attack against the good Senator."

Night in the city. Beautiful. Artistic, even. And Monochrome was walking down the street, his cane making small clacking sounds as it hit the ground with his every other step. Passerby were staring at him as his skin quite literally sparkled in the glow of the neon advertisements that littered the busy square. Monochrome was fighting against the flow of traffic, as it were, trying to weave through the crowds of people who were pushing their way in the other direction. But, Monochrome moved with purpose, he was following someone. He had recognized Kinetix walking down the other side of the street, and turned around on the spot. Now Monochrome was fighting the crowd, trying to catch up with him. He was just within hailing distance when Kinetix turned, and entered a small building. The diner was tiny, and for a moment Monochrome was surprised that such a small business could exist in such a major part of the city. All the buildings surrounding it were office complexes and skyscrapers. Curiousity getting the better of him, Monochrome walked inside, following his boss.
He had entered the little diner just in time to see Kinetix's interaction with a familiar-looking older gentleman and his associate. The senator. Ah, yes, that very morning the Senator had made a public announcement, openly opposing the Mutant Registration Act. But without the Mutant Registration Act, Division would not exist, and the world would be in constant danger from attack by mutant extremists. Kinetix's concern was completely understandable. But, apparently his questions caught the Senator off guard, as he had spilled his coffee over his own hands, and, with a loud curse that caused other customers in the diner to turn around in their seats, had ran off to the restroom, presumably to rinse his burning hands in some cool water. The other suit-wearing gentleman then reacted in a way that caught Monochrome by surprise. He yelled at Kinetix, accusing him of rudeness, interupted, and verbally abuse, before storming off into the restroom himself, leaving the entire diner in a sort of stunned silence.
"Well... That was... suspicious, don't you think?" Monochrome said softly to Kinetix, trying to be as quiet as he could, but the rest of the diner seemed to hear him anyway and all eyes turned on him. He was used to the attention his condition earned him, but still, there were times, such as now, when he wish he looked normal. Ignoring the stares, he jerked his head into an empty booth nearby, implying they should sit down.

Well, that was odd. The men had acted rather sporadically, almost pubescent. Kinetix shook his head as they walked off. He sighed, stomach grumbling. The food would have to wait. He looked up when another member of Division walked in, Julius Rosenfield, aka Monochrome. "You can say that again. I was trying to ask him a few questions. Bit odd, the Senator. I don't remember him being so...tense last time we met."
Michael tapped his chin and loosened his tie. He hated being in a suit and would much rather be in street clothes. What bothered him was the other man. Despite being full of himself, Michael got the premonition that he should know the guy. Michael pulled out his phone and did a quick search using Division's extensive and surprisingly user-friendly database. The result was Stephen Eisenhardt, a well-educated and wealthy man.
"Looks like we have our work cut out for us. Too bad Division is short-staffed." He stood and waved off Monochrome's head nod. "I'm gonna go see what's keeping those two." And then in a lower voice. "I think the Senator might be up to something shady. Maybe a mutant. Just take a seat and watch the entrance. If I'm not back in five minutes, come check. If you hear anything suspicious, come check. If not...order yourself a sandwich."
Michael walked off and then stopped at the corner of where the bathroom was. He didn't enter, instead listened intently to see if there was anything going on.

After entering the restroom, Thomas went straight to the sink to wash his hands. It really stung to be burned like that. He certainly hadn't meant to burn himself that badly. Nonetheless, it was an excuse to get out of that room with division. He didn't particularly care to be around them. After all, the longer he was around there, the more that their suspicions could come into fruition.
However, shortly after he began washing his hands, another person entered. Thomas paid little attention to who it was and instead made his way to the urinal. It really didn't matter who the person was. He had to act naturally anyway, and it was impossible to act much more natural than doing his business at the urinal. He sighed.

Slowly noticing that the feed from the other room had provided was now telling him an alarmingly painful truth which he had hoped to avoid. The camera's feed wasn't lying to him in the slightest, and his fears were quickly coming to pass as he watched 'Micheal Rush' follow him into the area where there was no camera. There was actually very little that could be done from within the bathroom in regards to Rekcah's powers. Aside from the remote devices which he had already established on his persons and the others in the bathroom, he couldn't tell what this Micheal person was doing. No matter. Rekcah would still have to play things out as if he was the political figure that he was.
Making his way into the bathroom and noticing that the running of the sink hadn't been stopped, Rekcah slowly began to turn the faucet in an attempt to cut short the water from flowing freely. Attempting to carry on the facade of their previous conversation, Rekcah maintained a fairly calm and collected form as he spoke. "Mr. Senator... it is rude to make conversation while in such a..." Taking a brief pause before coughing slightly, expressing a tone of embarrassment. "Compromising position." Falsifying his emotions once more Rekcah began to stop for a moment chuckling at the predicament.
"Are you all right from your burn sir?" He finished while looking into the mirror in hopes of finding the figure he had been speaking to. From the position he had been in, he could expect someone or something to interrupt him in some mannerism. The objective of the situation was to at least come to some form of understanding as to what his assistant was planning by taking over the Senator's position and preforming such an act. Whatever she was planning, Rekcah had to come up with some fairly innocent method of gaining the information he sought.

Monochrome watched as Michael also marched into the restroom. Giving a sigh he turned and sat in the booth. Now what? There was nothing to do but wait. He ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and awaited the return of his boss and the suspicious men he was tailing.

[OOC: Short post will be short]
Michael sat down at the nearest table and waited. He listened intently towards the door, fingers drumming the table as he waited. The waitress had the decency to bring him a cup of coffee, which he promptly drowned in sugar and cream. Bitterness was not a thing he enjoyed.
As he waited, his mind wandered to what his family was probably doing. Teagan would be asleep in the rocking chair in the nursery, desperately catching up on her sleep. Victor would be snoozing angelically in his crib, waking periodically when hungry. He wanted to be there right now. He sighed and as he did, his attention faded, thoughts of bedtime stories and quiet nights at home distracting him.

"I am fine..." Thomas reiterated. nonetheless, he appeared to be rather nervous about something. Part of this, was most definitely about the Division members outside, however, there was still much more to it than that. Every few seconds, Thomas found himself looking backward toward bathroom's exit, though he tried to keep himself calm. His cheeks were becoming flushed red.
Thomas finished using the urinal and raised his hand to flush it. It was at the sound of this flush that a young man with a hood over his head and gloves entered in through the bathroom. As Thomas zipped up his pants, the boy approached from right behind him so that their bodies were almost pressing together. Quickly, the boy reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a rather small gun. With his body pressed up against the senator, he fired it without warning. The bullet traveled up the senator's back and all the way up through his heart and out his shoulder.
"Gah!" the senator cried out. He fell down and onto the urinal. It was at this point that he began to cough up a fluid. This fluid entered into the toilet and escaped down the drain. The senator himself, would begin to bleed to death. All the while, the boy ran to the bathroom's window where he would attempt to make his escape, should someone not stop him.
"W-where am I?..." Thomas asked as he looked around at his environment, though still on his stomach. He coughed.
"What the hell happened to me?! How did I g-get here?!"

"How anticlimactic..." [/i]
Rekcah found himself thinking as he watched the young man enter into the bathroom with a hood covering his eyes. Had he been the most important figure in the entire room, he might have made an effort to care about his own well being. The figure did very little to hide his intentions as he pulled for his weapon, and all Rekcah could think of doing was going out of his way to avoid making sure the splatter didn't get onto his jacket. The loud sound of the gun being fired was something that Rekcah couldn't ignore nor negate with his powers. In his defense, it might have been better if he pretended that the gunshots had dealt definite damage anyways.
Doubling over from the sound of the gunshot and buckling his head down, Rekcah advanced towards the entrance of the bathroom. He'd known who to expect once he got there, after all the camera's feed hadn't been cut since he directed it to look and record the bathroom.
What was it that caused for the man who was following them into the bathroom to stop and return to his seat at the very moment an armed gunman walked in after a billionaire an a senator? If one had watched the video tape, it could easily be 'misconstrued' based on it's evidence. The wildly popular Division of government employed mutants goes into a restaurant to harass a man who's changed his political views on mutants, only to have been shot several moments after the man who had been watching the bathroom left his position.
As Rekcah attempted to regain his bearings before falling against the doorway of the bathroom holding onto his ears as if in pain, he could only reflect on one of the many joys of having such a gift over the homosaipen's own weapons. The mass media would be a fine tool to have, as Rekcah recorded the feed noticing that he looked quite pathetic doubled over in pain screaming. "Please, help the senator!" Rekcah fell to the ground holding onto his ears as several onlookers rushed to his assistance.
It was unknown what would happen after this, however, if Rekcah could have just the slightest chance of getting a raise out of the government's number one lap dog he'd do so. Besides, someone as powerful as Micheal Rush could not be simply allowed to forfeit his strengths to the men and women whom Rekcah was going against.
